Details
[Edit]From the opening of "Tell Mary" to the last fadeout of "Near & Far," When I Lived in the Wild has a great open sound and songs that pull you in with melodic builds and Fracasso's plaintive vocals. He tells us stories of love and lost love with a sly twist on each. Fracasso is good at building up details to give us well-drawn character sketches as in "How Very Inconvenient." The playing is strong and unobtrusive throughout, but it is the committed honesty of the songwriting that stands out. There are no concessions to hit radio or attempts to pump up any of the songs.
