Details
[Edit]Snock reprises highlights of his song catalog in this collection of new recordings, including "The Portland Water," "Werewolf," and "Hog of the Forsaken." Other songs are lifted from the out-of-print import Watertower album. If the arrangements are looser than in Hurley's heyday, when he had the Holy Modal Rounders and company to back him, the Doc himself sounds as feisty and bent as ever. His raw fiddle and banjo work are a pleasure to hear. Though nothing's really new here, sightings of this genuine eccentric are rare enough that any collection is welcome.
