Recorded live on small stage at 54 Below, A Little Bit Broadway, A Little Bit Rock & Roll captures Micky Dolenz's crowd-pleasing ways via a little bit of song, a little bit of dance, and a little bit of story. Dolenz tells tales throughout the show, introducing Monkees chestnuts along with some Broadway standards and left-field covers, such as the Beatles' "Oh! Darling." Dolenz's voice is surprisingly strong — a little lower and weathered, but still powerful — but the selling point of this show is his charm. He's out to win over an audience that already loves him but he never takes their affection for granted, choosing to play to the rafters when he could've just skated by.
