[Edit]The 1990 debut as a leader for pianist Mike Cain. This is a straight-ahead trio date featuring Cain's originals, plus support from guitarist Bruce Saunders and percussionist Glen Velez, who adds some flair and unpredictability to the proceedings. Cain didn't load up on remakes and shows promise as a player and writer, especially with his four-part composition "Piano Sketch."
