A DVD version of a live album from Bake's Place, a local club in the Seattle area. Mimi Fox plays some exceptional guitar during the proceedings, and Greta Matassa alternately slinks, scats, and swoons her way through a number of standards. Some exceptional backing work is done by the band, and Randy Halberstadt in particular makes some sweet sounds in his short piano solos. There are some nice Route 66-era pieces here, as well as a couple of original works, generally with Fox taking the solo role. Overall, it's a fine concert, though the video aspect of it is somewhat unnecessary given the style of music and the stage dynamic in general. The co-existent CD release provides the same music, and the choice of which to pick up will simply be guided by the listener's preference (though the DVD also includes a bonus of "Green Dolphin Street" as added incentive).
