[Edit]The Golden Eagles aren't so much a performance troupe as they are a ritual band. This 1988 disc featured them in live performance at the H & R Bar in New Orleans, and included everything from frenetic collective vocals to a reverent prayer song. It was raw, exciting, unpredictable music, performed without attention to anything except keeping the intensity level up. It was also dense and rhythmically varied, with Henry Singleton and Larry Boudreaux adding an Afro-Latin tinge on congas. If you're seeking genuine New Orleans "Indian" music, The Golden Eagles are the real item.
