All three of these artists are stars in their own right — Del is a lyrically gifted underground vet with more than two decades in the rap game, Boston's Mr. Lif has one of the most unusual and instantly recognizable voices in hip-hop, a raw and grimy tone that supports his often intellectual rhyme schemes, while Miami turntablist extraordinaire DJ Craze has won championship titles from the DMC, ITF, WMC, and Zulu Nation. Put three such figures in a studio together and you're bound to come up with something fresh, which is exactly what happened with this one-off project, released on indie label Chocolate Industries in 2000. Produced by Push Button Objects (a.k.a. Edgar Farinas), we get three versions of "360 Degrees," (Radio, Street, and Instrumental), a hard-hitting joint assembled from chopped keys, sparse guitar lines, and snappy drum hits. Craze lends an assortment of nice cuts, with Del and Lif flow back and forth line for line. Also includes "Breakers Delight," a length instrumental loaded with weird percussion, heavy bass, and dubby effects.
