[Edit]Louisville indie rock institution My Morning Jacket's 2011 album Circuital yielded a single in the form of "Outta My System," a nostalgic look at troubled times growing up. Remixez y Friendz grabs the original, somewhat dreamy version of the tune and pairs it with remixes by Washed Out and TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek. Also included is a far jazzier reading of the song credited as "Alternate Universe Version," a Beatlesque B-side "Friends Again," and — most excitingly — instrumental versions of the remixes. The instrumental for Washed Out's downtempo remix floats easily like a raft down a river, replacing Jim James' husky vocals with found dialogue samples about theories of consciousness.
