[Edit]The second album from this Vermont-based hardcore band finds them continuing to explore the boundaries between speed metal, hardcore, and skatepunk with generally productive and sometimes funny (maybe even intentionally so) results. At an average length of one and a half minutes and an average speed of about 120 miles per hour, the songs have all the trappings of by the numbers old-school hardcore — except for those long instrumental interludes and the occasional guitar pyrotechnics. The band's sense of humor is a little unusual as well: on the title track, singer Spencer Crispe suggests that it's time to "adjourn this meeting and put words into action," which is a nice way of putting it; they title their anti-white-supremacy song "Jesus Was Black"; they title another one "You May Be Hot But You Have No Personality." It's telling, though, that the album's best song is also its shortest: the 20-second epic "Passing in the Breakdown Lane." Not bad.
