2011’s historical/fantasy/television drama Camelot, which was based around the Arthurian legend and promised to "redefine the classic medieval tale of King Arthur,” featured music composed by brothers Mychael and Jeff Danna, both of whom shared a pedigree that was equally steeped in contemporary and traditional folk and classical music. Similar in tone and scope to Trevor Morris' Emmy-winning score for the Showtime TV series The Tudors, the Danna siblings blended early music with the lush orchestrations of modern-day film composition, resulting in a deeply atmospheric, Celtic, and new age-inspired collection of music that managed to hold up extremely well on its own.
