[Edit]Here's something out of the ordinary, with fresh appeal and some intriguing listening. Nick Rowe, an Englishman who lives on the Greek island of Crete, plays flutes and flute-synthesizer, while exploring motifs of world music, raga, and night-time tabla-driven dances whirling and turning inward. The flute playing is flawless, and the support from guitarists Kostas Timbakiank and Ralf Illenberger is excellent. Full of elegance and passion, Rowe's album stands up well after repeated listening. ~ Backroads Music/Heartbeats, Rovi
