[Edit]Little is known about the Nights, rumored to be Jerseyites, but this hasn't been confirmed. What is known is that H. B. Barnum, in association with Walter Johnson, produced some fine sides for the guys. "Country Girl," and written by Johnson and ex-O'Jay Bobby Massey, has a sugar-sweet falsetto lead that just soars. Most of the song titles are introspective: "Face in the Crowd," "Lovers Can Never Be Friends," and the straightforward "When You Dropped Your Guard Love Knocked You Down." Poor promotion caused this good effort to sink without a trace.
