[Edit]The first of two Christmas with My Friends recordings by Swedish trombonist Nils Landgren, this 2006 release is a festive combination of traditional carols ("Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht"), instrumentals (Handel's "Lascia Ch'io Pianga"), and classic standards ("White Christmas"), all performed in a classical jazz style. Recorded live at Stockholm's Odensala Medieval Church in 2005, its 18 tracks include contributions from Viktoria Tolstoy, Jeanette Köhn, and Ida Sand. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
