[Edit]Nino Segarra's follow-up to Con la Musica por Dentro (1990) rates as one of his most creative outings. Segarra's full understanding of the mainstream, combined with his arranging style, enabled him to craft an album that astutely links both the salsa trend of the day and his own vision of how to play it. The inventive "Oh Mama" is a socially conscious statement on abortion and its effects. A refreshing venture from the most original talent salsa has encountered, just when it was becoming more programmatic. This sample proved to be a welcome change of pace for the times. ~ José A.
