Scheyrer, Loose, Kmentt, Kunz, Anton Paulik, Vienna Volksoper Orchestra and Chorus

The authentic Vienna Volksoper version of Strauss's operetta, recorded in 1956, is a lush, cheerful version, propelled by a sense of drama but lacking some musical tension. A well-acted version, with Emmy Loose repeating her Arsena from the Krauss production and Kunz a very attractive Sandor Barinkay.
