Orison is a group of musicians from the Santa Cruz Mountains who play a mixture of Celtic and contemporary acoustic music, based around the talents of guitarist William Coulter. Orison consists of William's brother Steve on harp and recorder, and three others who play oboe, English horn, cello, flute and some percussion. The three guitar-based originals by William Coulter and a Gustav Holst medley compliment the traditional Irish pieces, which range from wistful ballads to lively jigs. The Celtic flavor blends with classical elements and contemporary sensibilities to produce this engaging album of instrumental folk music. ~ Backroads Music/Heartbeats, Rovi
