The unusual combination of two guitars and voice could, under the right circumstances, lead to some unusual results. In fact, the liner notes refer to this short recording as "a cheeky, severely arrogant project." Actually, it is surprisingly mild. It seems to be a largely collaborative effort among guitarist Brunod, electric guitarist Claudio Lodati, and vocalist Pascale Charreton. Lodati has participated in projects similar to this, but with greater success. This one meanders a bit, the sounds a touch ethereal. Most of the pieces were written or arranged by the guitarists, but along the way, they reinvent Iranian, Jewish, and Mongolian tunes. Brunod is equally effective on electric and acoustic guitars and percussion, while Charreton plays it fairly straight. Lodati is a strong soloist, though he is more restrained here than usual.
