[Edit]Sister 7's debut release introduced their mix of straight-ahead hard rock in the Led Zeppelin style, soul, and funk-rock, the most distinguishing feature being guitarist Patrice Pike's strong and earthy vocals. The songs establish a tense atmosphere, but they're not original enough to have much more going for them than that. It's not quite as bombastic as much of the hard rock that got heavy airplay in the mid-'90s, and not quirky enough to gain much favor outside of the mainstream. Originally issued on the Rhythmic label, it was reissued by Dualtone in 2001.
