From the Atmospheric imprint, the dark side of Suzanne Ciani's Seventh Wave label, comes Patrick Mimram's debut. The artist offers his dreams and nightmares about ancient and modern Italy. Each inspired track is named after the month and day of the dream. The total effect is darkly romantic, very expressive and engaging. The handsome booklet contains dream texts for each of the electronic ambient tracks. The title track was inspired by Pope Sixtus V's dream that resulted in the Egyptian obelisk placed in the Piazza del Popolo. The music attempts to convey a 24-hour cycle and the historical swath from Nero to Fellini. For a week the piece was performed onsite in an installation co-created with filmmaker Peter Greenaway.
