Emotion pours literally from the first track on this solo piano album. Cardall begins the album with a tribute to a friend who passed away while in high school. From there, the music tackles love, despair, nature, and yearning in a very personal collection. Cardall's style is fluid for the most part. This is the kind of album that gets listeners' minds spinning so much that they forget they're listening to anything. Many value the separate world they fall into while listening to this style of soft, ponderous piano work. Akin to David Tolk, Marvin Goldstein, or Jim Brickman, Cardall offers a mix between new age and romantic solos. Most memorable are "Winter's Wisp," "The River," and "Gone Home." Sincere and reflective.
