[Edit]This was Pedro Arroyo's maiden recording effort, after his tenure with Mulenze and Chamaco Rivera. His vocal skills are competent, but they would become more developed in later times. This production was mostly performed with New York personnel, and features some of Arroyo's earlier material: "Embrujao con Puerto Rico" (composed by Ramón Rodríguez) and "Lo Que Me Gusta" were the better-promoted tunes. The early '80s signaled a rebirth in the popularity of salsa, since merengue was the reigning dance for the first half of the decade; romantic salsa and salsa solo singers awakened with unparalleled interest.
