[Edit]A Brazilian release, Os Grandes Successos de Perez Prado is one of several anthologies licensed worldwide from RCA Victor Japan. (Its fourteen tracks include most of the ones found on the other records.) There are two special qualities about this material. First, the big hits, "Mambo No. 5," "Patricia, " "Cherry Pink, " and "Mambo Jambo, " are different mixes than any of the U.S. and European releases. Second, the other tunes are wonderful, from "Tequila" to "Hava Nagila" and the exotic "Flamingo." These also are arrangements unique to Japanese Victor. Production quality is like an average of the U.S. Victor and higher-fidelity Mexican recordings (more interesting if a little rough). "La Macarena" listed on the album, by the way, is really "Virgen de la Macarena."
