[Edit]Anyone familiar with Peter Frohmader, either back when Cycle of Eternity came out or with more hindsight, can't help but be surprised upon hearing this album. Except for the track "Inexorability," the music consists of serene, new age electronic soundscapes with very little of the distraught elements common to the man's work. Songs like "Spiral," "Reflection," "Hypnosis," and "Elevation" form a program by themselves. To the "traditional" new age electronic layout of such tracks, the aforementioned "Inexorability" adds Frohmader's distinctive organized chaos and evil electro-acoustic sensibilities, creating something closer to the material found on his previous U.S. release Macrocosm. But, once again, this is an exception. That being said, Cycle of Eternity remains delicately crafted and thoroughly enjoyable. If anything, it illustrates another facet of Frohmader's talents, but those expecting disturbed music like his collaborations with Artemiy Artemiev or Richard Pinhas might be disappointed. ~ François Couture, Rovi
