Details
[Edit]Two albums in and Seattle's Peter Parker is already integrating acoustic guitars and bombastic production (courtesy the band and Tim Harmon [the Posies, Bugs in Amber]) into their pop/punk sound. They may owe a fairly large debt to the bricklayers in Superchunk (Peter Parker occasionally plunders the trailblazers' back catalog for entire instrumental passages), but they avoid cloying poseur-ism simply by being excitable, loud, and fun, incorporating an unexpectedly literate lyrical presence and just enough nuance to keep things interesting. Approach with standard indie rock expectations, and the album is guaranteed to make you pogo like you just don't care. Left field cover: a revved-up seven-minute tear through Damien Jurado's "Paxil."
