Details
[Edit]Pianist Peter Rosendal, bassist Graig Earle, and drummer Janus Templeton make up a compelling trio, performing ten originals by the leader in this 2007 session. A European folk flavor and classical influences are often present in Rosendal's melodies, which offer a good bit of variety yet avoid predictable paths. Highlights include the elegant waltz "Crystal Clear," the haunting "Pitch Black," and the lyrical samba-like "The Seaduck." All three musicians are virtuoso players who interact well with one another, though the failure to include liner notes to give a little background about each one is regrettable.
