Details
[Edit]With their fourth release PFR have attained the maturity level and creative peak for which modern pop/rock bands should strive. The more aggressive approach toward their trademark pop style sets this recording (and segments of their previous Great Lengths) apart from earlier albums. While the Beatles influence is accredited to bands all too often, the similarities between this Minneapolis trio and the four from Liverpool are anything but subtle. Vocalist Joel Hanson owes a nod or two to Glenn Tilbrook as well. Songs like "Pour Me Out," "Anything," "Line of Love," and "Kingdom Smile" offer an alternative to much of the doom, gloom, and anger expressed by many cutting edge acts. With the exception of the sappy closer "Garden," Them is solid throughout.
