[Edit]A bi-coastal team-up of two artists reaching similar goals through dissimilar means: New York's Arcane Device using processed feedback to create dark, metallic spaces that issue forth noise, rhythm, and some pleasant drones; the Bay Area's PGR using prepared instruments to sound like processed feedback — rumbles, squelches, Eno-like washes. Arcane Device's piece "Penetrating Black Ice" features some sounds that turn up on the more mature Trout. PGR's four works are almost too subtle — "One Eye From Night" is virtual silence — but the sense of place (foggy, twilight, damp) is definite.
