[Edit]The first proper release by Soul Oddity side project Phoenecia. The group's debut track, "Roba" (for the "From Beyond" series, on the Interdimensional Transmissions label) introduced a style of sparse, abstract, lo-fi electro similar to tracks the pair have released separately as Jeswa and Metic, among others. "Randa Roomet" is comparatively more straightforward, although the Escher-like layers of clicky percussion and frantic, ricocheting rhythms are still oceans from what you're likely to encounter dancefloors filling up to. Nonetheless, "Thong," the third of this four-track double-pack, is arguably one of the most advanced and accomplished breakdance tunes released since the late '80s.
