This LP, the fourth of four for Columbia, was the last one including the Preservation Hall Jazz Band's founder, Allan Jaffe, who played tuba and passed away when he was 52. Most of the rest of the bandmembers (trumpeter Percy Humphrey, clarinetist Willie Humphrey, trombonist Frank Demond, pianist Sing Miller, banjoist Narvin Kimball, and drummer Frank Parker) were actually quite a bit older, particularly Percy and Willie Humphrey. The New Orleans revival music they perform includes "Oh! Didn't He Ramble," "Gettysburg March," "St. James Infirmary," and "Bourbon Street Parade," and it's enjoyable enough, even with some erratic playing, particularly from the horns.
