Details
[Edit]The two-disc Origin of the Species, Vol. 2 rescues a sizable number of Psychic TV house tracks from out-of-print obscurity. The first disc is drawn from the albums Jack the Tab: Acid Tablets, Vol. 1 (1988) and Tekno Acid Beat (1989), while the second disc features the Ultradrug material issued in 1995. The Jack the Tab cuts are the most interesting, having been issued as a fake various-artists compilation and actually featuring Psychic TV working with former Soft Cell keyboardist Dave Ball and writer Richard Norris. Since the tracks here aren't culled from as wide a variety of sources as the first volume of Origin of the Species, it isn't quite as consistent a listen, but it does capture the group at their acid-house peak, and all of this material has been very difficult to find for a long time.
