The stated intention of this Argentinean duo is to "explore and mix musical styles [such] as EBM, industrial, electro and darkwave" into a multifaceted but unified whole. Those outside the scene may be forgiven for thinking that it all ends up sounding like more or less standard-issue industrial dance music, but that's not a bad thing — as standard-issue industrial dance music goes, this stuff is not bad at all. Punto Omega gets extra points for singing in Spanish, and while their music isn't exactly soft and cuddly, it never succumbs to facile abrasiveness either. Lead vocalist Pilgrim does, unfortunately, subscribe to the Harsh Stage Whisper style of industrial vocalizing (second in popularity only to the Dyspeptic Storm Trooper style), which can be pretty irritating when you're trying to listen to the surprisingly elegant and complex EBM grooves or the genuinely lovely Galician pipes. But even with the group's annoying vocal affectations, this debut album is really very promising. Recommended.
