[Edit]When it comes to over-the-top love jams and ultra-seductive soul ballads, there's a shortlist of untouchable masters. Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass, and Marvin Gaye are all right up there, with dozens of classic bedroom anthems between them. On this 12-track compilation, The Quiet Storm All-Stars pay tribute to those three, covering some of their best-known and most beloved signature songs. There's a smattering of vocals (usually just for a chorus), but for the most part these are instrumental tracks, with all of the requisite saxophone flourishes, windchimes, acoustic guitars, and mellow keyboards that you'd expect and hope for. While not quite as powerful as the original material, it's still a great mix, ideal for fans of smooth jazz and old-school R&B.
