Details
[Edit]R. Carlos Nakai is both gifted and prolific. Journeys, Vol. 3 is a 56 minute gathering of his acoustic flute atmospheres. His aggressive style is smooth and sweet. The Native American flute — in this magician's hands — sings like a chorus. There are no loops or layers or electronic instruments or devices. These soundscapes are Nakai's flutes and chants with amplification. This disc is definitively Native American but it would fit quite nicely in ambient, minimalist or space music collections. It will appeal to fans of Robert Tree Cody, Douglas Spotted Eagle, Coyote Oldman and Little Wolf Band.
