Details
[Edit]Not to be confused with EPMD's sophomore album, this 2004 collaboration was released as a follow-up to The Best of Both Worlds, and most of it was culled from the same recording sessions. It debuted at #1 on both the rap and R&B charts, and led to a hugely hyped (but star-crossed and short-lived) tour. Like Both Worlds, the main agenda here is partying, flossing, and especially running game on the ladies, as evidenced on tracks like "Pretty Girls" and "She's Coming Home With Me," set to club-ready beats from Tone and Poke. "Big Chips" is a solid lead single, with minimalist synth-horn action and percolating drums, while fans from the old school will surely appreciate the Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh appearance on "The Return (Remix).” Listeners on the quest for sensitive musings about love and life may want to look elsewhere in Jay's catalog, but those who are down for a hedonistic night of champagne fuelled, no-strings-attached debauchery could do a lot worse. Only 11 tracks long, it's kind of like a drunken hook-up; nothing too serious, but fun while it lasts.
