Details
[Edit]The brainchild of English producer/musician Richard Anthony Hewson, The RAH Band debuted in 1977 with the U.K. hit single "The Church." After working for years as a successful arranger (with The Beatles, Diana Ross, The Bee Gees, and Herbie Hancock, among many others), Hewson started The RAH Band (writing all songs and playing all instruments) as an outlet for his futuristic outer space–disco–jazz–funk tendencies. He scored several hits through the late '70s and early '80s and continues to make music some 35 years later. Many of his earlier singles have since been rediscovered by tastemaker DJ types, as well as hip-hop producers looking for obscure but superfunky samples. This collection features his best-known work, as well as later compositions from the '90s and '00s. It's the perfect soundtrack for an evening of intergalactic romance while partying on Saturn, to be sure. Check for "Messages from the Stars" and "Clouds Across the Moon."
