[Edit]Coming out of Brick City (Newark, N.J.), Rah Digga first appeared in the mid-'90s as a member of The Outsidaz and got her big break via a cameo on "Cowboys" from The Fugees' multiplatinum smash The Score. Paying dues doing shows around New York, she caught the attention of Busta Rhymes, who brought her into his Flipmode Squad collective. Blessed with a swift flow and no-drama personality, she worked with a gang of artists including Talib Kweli, Masta Ace, Bahamadia, and Black Rob; in 1999 she released her first solo album, Dirty Harriet, featuring the single "Tight." Unfortunately, label issues saw her follow-up get shelved; she finally returned in 2010 with Classic. Produced by the much-sweated beatsmith Nottz, this EP set the stage for it, with Rah attacking lyrically vacant rappers on "This Ain't No Lil' Kid Rap" and continuing to smash suckers on the bass-heavy, organ-assisted "Do Your Numbers." The joints, as always, are solid; this was a welcome return for Harriet Thugman.
