Ral Partha Vogelbacher's Megalon full-length is 13 songs of quirky pop/rock that highlight the singer's somewhat off-key vocals and incredibly obtuse lyrics. While the album starts off with somewhat of an abrasive rock sound, it takes on a range of folk, pop, and rock sounds, similar to what might happen if the Talking Heads had a bit more of a rootsy edge and hadn't been nearly as talented. In all honesty, the album is competently produced and played, but Ral Partha Vogelbacher doesn't create anything catchy, nor are the songs incredibly unique. It seems as though Kite vs. Obelisk is just another album destined to be lost in the history of music recordings.
