As the title suggests, this 23-track disc collects some of Ralph McTell's best songs pertaining to matters of the heart. While he is best remebered for songs dealing with social and political concerns, especially for "Streets of London," this collection offers an interesting alternate view of the artist with a subject he's equally capable of pulling off. Presumably due to licensing problems, McTell had to re-record a few of his early songs but that shouldn't detract from the album — the remakes are faithful to the originals.
