Details
[Edit]Randall Bramblett is a world-class musician who has played with some of the most highly esteemed names in the business, from Gregg Allman to Steve Winwood. On his own, he settles into his own professional Southern-flavored studio pop and earthy blues. But for 2010’s The Meantime, Bramblett has made a conscious effort to focus on the ballads. Many of his favorite musicians are on hand to lend help, but Bramblett himself handles the production chores. “Disconnected” begins the album with a smooth piano softening the impact of the heartbreaking melody that’s pure rainy-day bliss. “Witness for Love” (which appeared as a duet on Bonnie Bramlett’s album Beautiful) sparkles with piano and upright bass and a sublime and subdued string arrangement from Steve Dancz. The entire album flows as one long meditation on romance. “Where You Come From” recalls Eric Clapton in his quiet moments, the essence of the blues recast as adult contemporary pop.
