What Do You Suppose? is a bit of a departure for Rapoon (aka Robin Storey). It is a mixed bag of sorts. He combines his electro-tribal style with ethnic overtones and some eerie atmospheres. He plays it against an outrageous alarmist speech about covert government activities, aliens from outer space, and UFOs. The speech is purportedly serious so it comes across as satirical and funny instead of dire and foreboding, which is what its intent was. Storey has composed a sarcastic soundscape to surround the twisted tale. The atmospheres weave in and around the speech with hints of mischief and feigned angst. Storey is poking fun at this jerk with some excellent music and perfect timing. There are no discs remotely comparable — a true sign of greatness.
