[Edit]Voudou Nou is a hyperactive album of Caribbean fusion, with voudou rhythms, bata drumming, African roots, rara energy from Carnaval, and compas, reggae and more, slammed together in a frenetic mix with an ungodly tempo. The lyrical content is largely moral or traditional, but the sheer force of the music is what will catch the ear. Because of the massive speed and call-and-response thrown throughout the album similarly, the pieces tend to meld together into a single array of sound and energy. As such, it's difficult to pick a given highlight from the album, and it's left simply to suggest the album for fans of worldbeat or contemporary Caribbean music. Fans of other ethnic genres may be put off by the force of this one.
