Details
[Edit]Hollywood in Rhythm is the third album in Ray Conniff's thematic In Rhythm series. Previous installments were devoted to classical and Broadway tunes, while this one presents songs and themes from films. The mostly instrumental arrangements are not very characteristic of Conniff's style, making very subtle use of his chorus when it appears at all. The results are more conventional than usual, and the album is easy to lose amid the countless forgotten orchestral pop albums of the '50s. Perhaps because of Conniff's oddly indistinct approach, Hollywood in Rhythm was the poorest seller of his first three In Rhythm albums, and for years held the record as his lowest charting.
