Hailing from Santa Barbara, Calif., Rebelution serves up a sunny and relentlessly positive sound that fuses roots reggae, SoCal pop, breezy funk, and acoustic folk, culminating in upbeat and likeable music that seems tailor-made for an on-campus Spring Fling. Peace of Mind is the group’s fourth studio album, picking up where 2009's Bright Side of Life left off. Furthering Rebelution’s eclectic approach are diverse guest artists, including Blues Traveler's John Popper (the super-mellow “Closer I Get”), Zion I's Zumba (“So High”), and SOJA’s Jacob Hemphill, who joins the group for “Meant to Be.” In an interesting twist, the deluxe version features both acoustic and dub remixes for all 12 tracks, resulting in 36 songs overflowing with peace, love, and good vibes for all. Recommended for fans of Sublime, SOJA, and Kapakahi. Highlights include “Life on the Line,” “Calling Me Out,” and “Sky Is the Limit.”
