The ever-changing, ever-challenging Red Krayola return with 1999's Fingerpainting. Head Krayola Mayo Thompson returns with an eclectic supporting crew, including fellow Drag City artists David Grubbs and Stephen Prina, along with other regular Krayolas like George Hurley and Frederick Barthelme. The 11-piece Red Krayola turns out 12 new works like "Bad Medicine," "There There Betty Betty" and "Vile Grass," which play with noise, creative arrangements, and vocalizing, shaping these elements into ambitious instrumentals and whimsical songs that graze pop's fringe.
