[Edit]Pagode at its best (not the modern mellifluous counterfeit "pagodinho romântico"). The second volume of Reinaldo's Pagode Pra Valer has important sambistas in a live-recorded commemoration (at São Paulo's samba house Terra Brasil) of the genuine pagode of the Carioca hills: Arlindo Cruz and Sombrinha (in the lively medley by Arlindo, "Casal Sem Vergonha," "SPC," "Sem Endereço," and "Já Mandei Botar Dendê," the latter recorded with success by Zeca Pagodinho), Zeca Pagodinho ("Sonhos," "Homenagem a Zeca Pagodinho"), Carica ("Não Fique Assim"), Leci Brandão ("Quando Te Vi Chorando," "Água Benta," "É Ouro Só"), and Royce do Cavaco ("Me Engana Que Eu Gosto," "Pura Semente"). The hot swing of the Carioca samba in true spirit of the old masters of the Carioca hills subscribed by the frenetic applause of the Paulista audience.
