Details
[Edit]With their effect-laden guitars, horn sections, and gospel choirs, Reverberation comes across like the French version of Spiritualized. Though they don't hide their influences very well, they're also the rare group that can match the quality of the music that inspired them: their debut album Blue Stereo Music is an impressive fusion of drone-rock, blues, soul, and pop. Blissed-out interludes surround poppier pieces like "Cross Your Sky," "When the Ships Come Down," "Doctor, Doctor," and "Fancy Swim," which sounds like the dream-pop version of Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side." While the seven-minute epic "It's All Over Now" isn't climactic enough to justify its length, the album's pretty, creative arrangements and melodies make Blue Stereo Music a welcome addition to any space rock fan's collection.
