Details
[Edit]Depending on your age and appreciation of hip-hop, Rich Gang is either a jaw-droppingly awesome compilation featuring all of your favorite rappers or a head-scratchingly wack collection of predictable and clichéd garbage. A supergroup that brings together YMCMB members including Lil Wayne, Nicki Manaj, Baby the Birdman, Mack Maine, and Limp Bizkit (?!)—as well as likeminded chart-toppers Rick Ross, Meek Mill, French Montana, and Game, among others—it's basically a sonic celebration of money, money, and more money. There are enough synth beats and Auto-Tune effects to jumpstart an 18-and-under dance club. A few quotable rhymes are in the mix, but serious lyricism clearly isn't the main event here, taking a backseat to the club-ready production and dream-team posse cuts. It's good to hear Mystikal again (on "Everyday," which also features Busta Rhymes), and T.I. gets busy on "Have It Your Way." But for the most part, it's all about the dough. This is appropriately enough from Cash Money Records, the label that introduced "Bling Bling" to the world.
