Details
[Edit]This album's title track turned into a surprise hit that gave Rick Nelson his first Top 10 tune in a decade (and his last), a mellow but wry account of a rock 'n' roll oldies concert gone awry due to former teen idol Nelson's new country-rock sound and longhaired look. The album alternates between laid-back tunes (like "Nighttime Lady" and the aforementioned smash) and harder-hitting rockers ("I Wanna Be with You," Chuck Berry's "I'm Talking About You")—but the whole record embodies the early-'70s L.A. country-rock aesthetic. It's a great showcase for Nelson's Stone Canyon Band as one of the best on the SoCal hippie-cowboy scene.
