[Edit]Shaman's Way is a Soulfood (aka DJ Free or Gordon Schaeffer) project featuring Rita Coolidge on chants and vocals and Brent Lewis on organic percussion. There are guest performances by Bettine Clemen (native and silver flutes), Peter Schimke (keyboards), Enrique Toussaint (bass), Richard Hardy (winds), and Mark Koenig (didgeridoo). Schaeffer coordinated, designed, composed, and programmed the music. He also performed on electronics. This is a dynamic celebration of life and spirituality. The atmospheres are strong, the rhythms are direct, and the soundscapes are sure. There are no wasted efforts. This CD will appeal to fans of Byron Metcalf, Gabrielle Roth, and Sonic Tribe.
