Details
[Edit]Farias is yet another romantic Italian who sings wistfully through his instrument - this time an electric guitar. The leader is joined by a fine rhythm section anchored by drummer Roberto Gatto. The ten compositions by Farias give the band a chance to stretch through some nice chords. There is an underlying blues feel to some of the charts, and everyone is given an opportunity to solo at length. The melodies are hummable, light, and pleasant - happy, even upbeat. The guitarist floats over the top with careless abandon, while his brother Angelo lulls with his electric bass. All in all, the tempos are on the slow side, the dynamics soft and gentle, and the lines simple and sweet. However, this is squarely in the jazz tradition, and a far cry from New Age noodling. It is not innovative in any sense, but it should please.
